Cancel via host

This functionality consists in reversing a transaction even if it isn't present in Carat Portal's or SiTef's databases anymore. By default, the transactions are stored for a period of six months in Carat Portal, which means that cancelling a transaction that was confirmed more than six months ago will require a cancel via host. However, this limit of six months can be changed, so, we suggest contacting Carat Portal support team to check this condition.

In this type of cancellation, the data are only passed on to the acquirer and Carat Portal has no means of knowing what actually happened to the transaction (if it was really reversed or not). So, Carat Portal isn't responsible for the result of this operation.

Currently, cancel via host can only be done with Cielo via SiTef.

Required configurations on Carat Portal#

The merchant will only be able to cancel via host if they have permission for this operation on Carat Portal's back-office. For this, it's necessary to contact Carat Portal registration team regarding this specific demand.

It's also important that the merchant also checks with the acquirer about the possibility of doing this operation, and also about the deadlines for doing it.
